Kathy Greggs * Executive Member-at-Large * 2021 - 2023
Kathy Greggs was born in Camden, New Jersey. She grew up in Germany. Her mother and
father retired and served in the United States Army, which is where she followed their traditions.
As a US Army Combat Veteran, and military sexual assault survivor; her advocacy in the US
Army helping change the US Army policy and procedures with reporting and discharging for
emotional trauma victims. Her personal experience led to volunteer at the Phoenix Center for
Rape Crisis and Connections of Cumberland where she did case management for homeless
women and children. She is a certified FEMA Disaster Operations Manager who coordinated
relief efforts during Hurricane Irma, Matthew, Florence in NC and Hurricane Harvey and
Wildfire Thomas in California. Served as a co-advocate, for Pathway to Prosperity housing to
assist those out of poverty. She served as the Chair for City of Fayetteville Board of
Commissioners, for Public Arts.
She is the Co-founder of Fayetteville Police Accountability Community Taskforce; a nonprofit
organization that seeks to change statewide and national regulations, policies, and laws within
the criminal justice system. Fayetteville PACT also address any racial injustices no matter what
race, gender, sexual orientation, religion. She assisted with the write up on SB 682 with Senator
DeViere, on establishing Citizen Review Boards at all cities and municipalities across NC.
Greggs led or served on several civil rights and civil liberties organizations. She serves as the
North Carolina Director and Military Liaison for the Domestic Violence Rally, Board of
Directors for NewLife2nd Chances, Governance Committee Board for ACLU of NC, Steering
Committee for Sheriff Trusting Communities, Board of Director for NC National Organizing of
Women Legislation Action, Board of Directors for Pro-Choice NC, NC Climate Ambassador.
She stays active as a member of North Carolina Association of Educators, NAACP, North
Carolina Black Leaders Organize Collective, NC National Organization for Women, United
Negro Women Council- Fayetteville Area Section, Alumni of the Wounded Warrior Project,
Veteran of Foreign War Affairs, Domestic Violence Rally, Human Resource Professionals,
Protect our Defenders member, and the US Army Adjutant General Association.
Greggs holds an MBA from Columbia Southern University and is currently a PhD in Theology.
She is a recipient of Juneteenth Freedom Pioneer Award (2019), Presidential Volunteer Service
Bronze Award (2018), “I Care Award” from Cumberland County for Volunteer Service (2017).
